After years of negotiations, the Russian Federation, the European Commission, and Germany as the member state hosting the Managing Authority of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region (BSR) Programme have signed a Financing Agreement. It means that the Russian partners can now become official and “full” partners in projects funded by the Interreg BSR Programme.

On the 5th of March 2018, the ANO „Energy Efficiency Center“ from Petrozavodsk has signed the Partnership Agreement for the project “LowTEMP – Low Temperature District Heating for the Baltic Sea Region”. Together with the associated partner “PKS Teploseti” (PKS Heat Networks, district heating provider), the ANO „Energy Efficiency Center“ will contribute to making the district heating supply in Petrozavodsk and in the Baltic Sea region smarter and more sustainable. The partners from Petrozavodsk will collect and analyse data on the Petrozavodsk district heating system and will develop a strategic energy action plan to modernise this system.
