The final LowTEMP 2.0 online seminar in Poland “On the road to fourth generation district heating grids” was held on 10th October 2021 and was organised by the Instytut Maszyn Przepływowych (IMP PAN) Gdansk. Paricipants included employees from heat providers, city administrations and building associations. Further, building owners, SME advisory and energy organizations participated. The agenda included topics such as “Introduction to new challenges for the District Heating sector resulting from EU climate policy” (presented by Dr. Teresa Zurek), “On the road to fourth generation District Heating” based on best practice experiences from the LowTEMP project (presented by Prof. Adam Cenian), “Temperature reduction in District Heating” (presented by Dr. Mieczysław Dzierzgowski), “Waste and Surplus heat” (presented by Dr. Teresa Zurek), “An introduction to different type of heat pump systems and their implementation” (presented by Dr. Grzegorz Mizera), “Power-2-Heat” (presented by MSc Jarosław Losinski) and methods of CO2 emission calculation in CHP systems (presented by Prof. Adam Cenian).
The more than 30 participants reacted positively to the seminar as they found the presentations to be clear, understandable and interesting. All in all, the LowTEMP 2.0 seminars in Poland led to several interesting contacts, discussions and to cooperation between cities, heat providers and urban planners.
