The Pomeranian Energy Picnic is dedicated to promotion of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and recycling. This picnic took place on 10-11 June in Gdynia in a very central & prestigious location near the Musical Theatre, the Naval Museum and the sea boulevard. The organisers are the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOSiGW) together with the City of Gdynia.
The companies, institutions and projects presented their products and pro-ecological achievements. All of these were mixed with an easily digestible portion of knowledge and good fun for children and young people. The reasons and solutions for smog elimination were presented and debated. The issue of fuels was widely discussed.
The Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery was invited to present its achievements in the field of eco-technologies and waste management. Also partner OPEC District Heating Enterprise Gdynia took part in the picnic. There was opportunity to raise awareness about the low-temperature district-heating grids and energy efficiency measures. The LowTEMP project was promoted and its findings were discussed. The local radio registered interview related to IMP PAN activities. The local authorities (from city of Gdynia) and WFOSiGW took part in the meeting.
